Privacy policy
This privacy policy explains how Icey AB, the developer and provider of Tower Chase, handles information in the Android and iOS game and its website at apps.icey.se/tower-chase/. Icey AB is responsible for the information described below. For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact icedor@icey.se.
Playing and saving on your device
You can play offline without an account. The app saves your best score, game settings and cached city records on your device. Updates can import your records and settings from an earlier version. These local files are not automatically uploaded to the leaderboard. Your device's operating system may include them in its backups, according to your device settings.
The app does not include advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. It does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, precise location or advertising identifier.
The optional public leaderboard
When you open the online leaderboard after a new record, the app sends the number of floors and completion time to prepare the submission form. A record is added to the public leaderboard only when you choose to submit the form.
Submitted records contain the name or nickname you enter, your chosen city, number of floors, completion time and submission date. We store and publicly display these details to provide player rankings, city standings and shareable score pages. The city is your chosen side in the game, not a location detected from your device. Use a nickname if you do not want your real name to be public. Other people can view, copy and share public records.
Online connections, cookies and security data
The app contacts our server to refresh city standings when internet is available. Opening the leaderboard also connects to our website. Like other HTTPS connections, these requests expose your IP address to the hosting server. The hosting provider may record the IP address, requested page, date and time, and browser or app request information in access and security logs.
The leaderboard uses an essential session cookie and submission tokens to protect forms and prevent duplicate or forged requests. They are not used for advertising or tracking across websites. To limit repeated submissions, our rate-limit table stores a keyed hash derived from the IP address, rather than the original address. These technical identifiers are used only to operate and protect the service.
Who receives information
Icey AB operates the game and leaderboard. Our web hosting provider, Oderland, processes website requests, stored leaderboard data and server logs to host and secure the service. Submitted score details are also available to the public as described above. We do not sell personal information or share it with advertising or analytics networks.
If you contact us, we use your email address, message and the information you provide to answer your request. Our email service processes that correspondence. If you choose an external sharing service or an app-store link, that service receives the information you send to it and applies its own privacy policy. We do not embed its tracking scripts in the leaderboard.
How information is protected
App and website connections to our service use HTTPS encryption. Server credentials are kept outside public web files and are not included in the apps. Score submissions are validated; database queries use bound parameters, and session, request-verification and rate-limit controls help protect the service. Administrative access is restricted to operating and maintaining the service. Information that you deliberately publish on the leaderboard is public.
Retention
Local records and settings remain on your device until you clear the app's data or remove the app. Device backups are controlled separately by your operating system and backup settings.
Public scores are kept while the leaderboard operates, unless removed following a request or moderation. Rate-limit entries have expiry times; expired entries are removed periodically as the service processes submissions. Hosting logs follow the provider's access and security-log retention. Private recovery backups can contain earlier copies after a record has been removed from the live leaderboard; they are restricted to recovery and are not publicly accessible. Contact us for information about a particular record or backup.
Privacy-request correspondence is retained as needed to handle and document the request. We may retain information when necessary to meet applicable legal obligations or resolve a dispute.
Deletion, correction and privacy questions
To request deletion or correction of your leaderboard record, email icedor@icey.se. Include the score's permanent link if available, or the nickname, city and score so we can find it. We may ask for proportionate information to verify that the request concerns your record. Do not send passwords. We remove verified records from the live leaderboard; copies previously made by other people are outside our control.
Tower Chase has no user accounts to delete. You can remove local game data using your device's app settings or by removing the app; this does not automatically remove an already published leaderboard record. You may also request information about your data or contact the relevant data protection authority about a concern.
Changes to this policy
We publish updates on this page and change the date above. If the app's data practices change, we update the policy and relevant in-app information.
