Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Icey AB, the developer and provider of Tower Chase 2, handles information in the Android and iOS game and its website at apps.icey.se/tower-chase-2/. Icey AB is responsible for the information described below. For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact icedor@icey.se.

Playing and saving on your device

You can play offline without an account. The app saves your best score, best time, number of games played and your settings (sound, music, crane speed, time of day, landing guide, vibration and graphics quality) on your device. These are not uploaded automatically. Your device's operating system may include them in its backups, according to your device settings.

The app does not include advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. It does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, location or advertising identifier. The game does not connect to the internet while you play.

The optional public highscore list

When you open the highscore list in the app, the app opens our website. If you have a new personal record that has not been submitted, it sends the number of floors, the completion time and your platform (iOS or Android) to prepare a submission form. A record is added to the public list only when you enter a nickname (and, if you like, a city) and choose to submit it.

Submitted records contain the name or nickname you enter, the city you optionally type in, number of floors, completion time, platform and submission date. We store and publicly display these details to provide player rankings, the leading-city summary and shareable score pages. The city is whatever you choose to enter; it is never detected from your device. Use a nickname if you do not want your real name to be public. Other people can view, copy and share public records. For sprints, the record also contains the ghost of the run (when each floor was reached), which other players can race against in the app.

Challenges. When you challenge a friend, the name you enter, your time, the tower's random seed and your run's ghost are stored and shown to anyone with the challenge link. The friend's answer (name and time) is added to the same page. To show ghosts and challenges, the app downloads these public details from our website.

Online races. When you start an online race, the name you enter, your platform and, during the race, your run time and number of floors are sent to our website about once a second and shown to your opponent. The room has a random code and each player a random key; only a hashed form of the key is stored. Race rooms are not part of the public list; they are deleted automatically once they are two hours old, the next time anyone starts a race.

Online connections, cookies and security data

Opening the highscore list connects to our website over HTTPS, which exposes your IP address to the hosting server. The hosting provider may record the IP address, requested page, date and time, and browser or app request information in access and security logs.

The highscore list uses an essential session cookie and signed submission tokens to protect the form and prevent duplicate or forged requests. They are not used for advertising or tracking across websites. To limit repeated submissions, our rate-limit table stores a keyed hash derived from the IP address, not the address itself. These technical identifiers are used only to operate and protect the service.

Who receives information

Icey AB operates the game and the highscore list. Our web hosting provider, Oderland, processes website requests, stored highscore data and server logs to host and secure the service. Submitted score details are also available to the public as described above. We do not sell personal information or share it with advertising or analytics networks.

If you contact us, we use your email address, message and the information you provide to answer your request. If you choose an external sharing service, that service receives what you send to it and applies its own privacy policy.

How information is protected

Connections to our service use HTTPS. Server credentials are kept outside public web files and are not included in the apps. Score submissions are validated, database queries use bound parameters, and session, request-verification and rate-limit controls help protect the service. Information you deliberately publish on the highscore list is public.

Retention

Local records and settings remain on your device until you clear the app's data, use "Clear highscore" in the settings, or remove the app.

Public scores are kept while the highscore list operates, unless removed after a request or moderation. Rate-limit entries expire and are removed periodically. Online race rooms are deleted once they are two hours old (when the next race is started). Hosting logs follow the provider's log retention. Private recovery backups can contain earlier copies after a record has been removed from the live list; they are restricted to recovery and are not public.

Deletion, correction and privacy questions

To request deletion or correction of your highscore record, email icedor@icey.se. Include the score's permanent link if available, or the nickname, city, floors and time so we can find it. We may ask for proportionate information to verify that the request concerns your record. Do not send passwords. We remove verified records from the live list; copies made by other people are outside our control.

Tower Chase 2 has no user accounts. You can remove local game data in your device's app settings or by removing the app; this does not remove an already published record. You may also request information about your data or contact the relevant data protection authority.

Children

The game is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Publishing a score is optional; children should use a nickname and ask a parent before submitting.

Changes to this policy

We publish updates on this page and change the date above. If the app's data practices change, we update the policy and the relevant store information.
